Organized by Chris Held and Lydia Cambron, the resulting irreverent display of color, shape, and varying degrees of functionality make JONALDDUDD a sight to see.

The world's largest design event Milan design week returns in 2025 with design fair Salone del Mobile and a collection of fringe events known as fuorisalone. In the air is a desire for solidity, for concreteness, for materiality—and pieces that carry their own weight, in every sense, are breaking into domestic design. So it’s logical that materials like travertine—and even more so, marble—are playing an important role in this design week.

Exhibitors debuting their latest wares to a national and international audience eagerly shared what they’d been working on over the past two years. Once known as New York Design Week, the event, which encompasses five fairs (ICFF, Wanted Design Brooklyn and Manhattan, Sight Unseen, and Brooklyn Designs), has sprawled out in recent years to take over the better part of May and most of the city's boroughs. From Brooklyn's Industry City to the Javits Center on the banks of the Hudson River—and everywhere in between—theres's good design to be seen across the city.

MUJI IS invites guests to take “a walk in the forest of verbs, ” inspired by the brand’s book by the same name. Expect a journey through a forest-like experiential installation based on MUJI’s design ethos and product archives. Founded by Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat, WantedDesign is a curated showcase and platform where commerce meets the culture of design. Returning this year will be the annual Launch Pad program that introduces new products and fresh talent.
The Queensboro Bridge appears on the hat, and its distinctive steel latticework is cross-sectioned on the sleeves and down the pant legs. And it has many iconic things already integrated into uniforms for the city’s other sports. The Nets have regularly drawn inspiration from New York’s art scene, the Knicks from the FDNY and the idea that the city never sleeps. Started in 2021, Nike’s City Connect series challenges teams to design a new uniform, distinct from their usual set, that tells a story about its home.
With the Ray chair, McInnis used rough pea gravel to bind French-style chair legs to a folding chair adorned with Swarovski crystals, velvet upholstery, and a yellow chain — a completely unexpected mix. Additional product highlights at the fair included the debut of Danver’s Urbane collection, with designer Daniel Germani in-booth to show off the unit’s finer details. At Ethnicraft, fairgoers encountered moody, architecturally-inspired wood accessories, and we expect to see many of them propping bookshelves and desks for years to come.
